Kingman Turquoise Cabochon A064

The Kingman turquoise mine, operated by the Colbaugh family in Arizona, is the last remaining commercially producing mine in the United States. Evidence suggests turquoise was mined in the surrounding areas dating as far back as 600 AD. Tools like stone hammers were found in the ancient trenches and tunnels running through the hills in 1962.
This collector's cab was hand cut by Navajo silversmith and lapidary Lyndon Tsosie. It was dropped during the cabbing process, so Lyndon used a mix of 14k gold dust to fill the cracked areas in the style of Japanese Kintsugi.
This Kingman turquoise cabochon is all natural (aside from the filled areas) and backed for extra strength.
