Red River comes from the Henan province and features a rare blend of turquoise and alunite minerals. Lab testing I had performed revealed faustite (a member of the turquoise family and the dominant mineral in green Carico Lake) and Svanbergite, an alunite member. These minerals often form in close proximity to each other, but it's very rare for them to be seen together in the same stone.
